ONE: Chop 16 ounces of Clear Melt and Pour Soap Base, add the pieces to a heat-safe container, and melt in the microwave using 30-second bursts. Split the soap evenly into two separate containers—it's okay to eyeball it. TWO: To one container, add shavings of the Perfect Red Color Block and stir to incorporate until you get a bright red hue. To the other container, add shavings of the Ultramarine Blue Color Block and stir to incorporate until you get a rich blue hue. If necessary, place the containers back in the microwave and melt on 10-second bursts to completely incorporate the Color Blocks. THREE: Add 1/2 teaspoon of Fine Silver Rainbow EcoGlitter to each container and stir to combine. FOUR: Place the Mini Star Silicone Column Molds in a container to position the molds upright. Pour the red soap into two of the column molds and the blue soap into the other two column molds. Allow the soap to cool and harden completely. This takes anywhere from 4–6 hours. FIVE: Remove the soap from the Mini Star Column Molds and trim the edges if necessary. Set aside. SIX: Chop 42 ounces of White Melt and Pour Soap Base, add the pieces to a heat-safe container, and melt in the microwave using 30-second bursts. Stir in between each burst. Melting down such a large amount of soap can take time, so patience is key. Make sure to use short bursts and stir frequently so you don’t burn the soap. SEVEN: Add the Blueberry Jam Fragrance Oil and stir to combine. Take the temperature of the soap. If it's below 130 degrees F, move to the next step. If not, stir until it cools. NOTE: As you continue to layer the soap in the following steps, make sure the soap is no hotter than 130 degrees F so it doesn’t melt the star embeds. EIGHT: Pour a small amount of white soap into the mold. Spritz one of the red star embeds with 99% isopropyl alcohol to help it stick, and place off-center in the mold. The white soap should cover about half of the red star—pour more if necessary. Spritz with 99% isopropyl alcohol again to get rid of bubbles. Allow the white soap to cool and harden for several minutes. NINE: Once the bottom layer is strong enough to support more soap, spritz it with 99% isopropyl alcohol. If necessary, reheat the white soap in the microwave using 10-second bursts. Pour a small amount of white soap into the mold, spritz one of the blue embeds with alcohol, and place it in the mold on the opposite side of the red star. Pour more white soap until the star is almost completely covered, and spray with 99% isopropyl alcohol to get rid of bubbles. TEN: Once the bottom layer can support more soap, reheat the white soap if necessary, spray the bottom layer with 99% isopropyl alcohol, and pour a very thin layer of soap into the mold. Spritz a red star embed with alcohol, and place it in the mold on the opposite side of the blue star. Spray with more alcohol, and cover most of the red star with white soap. Allow it to cool and harden. ELEVEN: Finally, spritz the last blue star embed with alcohol, place in the mold, and cover completely with white soap. Spray liberally with 99% isopropyl alcohol to get rid of bubbles. Allow the soap to fully cool and harden overnight. TWELVE: To remove from the mold, pull away the sides of the silicone mold to break the airlock. Flip the mold over, and gently push the soap out from the bottom. Slice into bars using a Crinkle Cutter or non-serrated knife and enjoy! |
